Our society is ridiculously overstressed, and we act as if something is wrong with a person who doesn't want to be under a lot of stress all the time. We're passing on this overstressed and overprogrammed way of life to our children. Hopefully, they'll have the sense that we have lacked, and reject it.

Thanks Gina. I agree. The one point you didn't single out — and which I'm sure you'd agree with — is the impact that a parent's stress can have on their child or children, whether it be a single or divorced parent, or parents in traditional homes. Thanks again, and as always, for the input.

Jorge, yup, everybody has stress and it's hard to say who has more, - we all have more stressors at different times in our lives, even different times of the day blood pressure can spike. I think what's important is how people handle stress and how that affects their lives.

What could kill one person, another person handles in stride. It's good to have friends to share with and a built-in support system in life, at least that's what gets me through things, in addition to exercise and practicing Reiki. Stress is a silent killer, really not to be minimized, so frequent blood pressure checks and self-checks are so crucial. We often get too busy to stop and regroup in life.
